Abstract

The populations of our cities are growing, getting older and often lonelier, and we are living in a world where both technology and climate are changing rapidly. The way we travel, why we travel and where we travel too are changing just as rapidly.

Our challenge is to create fantastic places that support sustainable forms of transport and move with the changing way we travel. What part can the green spaces and wildlife play in helping create these places?

This paper will draw on examples to develop a vision for how transport infrastructure can help clean our air and water, decrease flooding, encourage walking and cycling, and create great places for everyone.
